Limits of Fluid Modeling for High Pressure Flow Simulations

چکیده

Flows in liquid propellant rocket engines (LRE) are characterized by high pressures and extreme temperature ranges, resulting complex fluid behavior that requires elaborate thermo-physical models. In particular, cubic equations of state dedicated models for transport properties firmly established LRE simulations as a way to account the non-idealities high-pressure fluids. this paper, we review some shortcomings current modeling paradigm. We build on common study property errors, direct measure density or heat capacity accuracy, evaluate quality with respect pseudo boiling rocket-relevant More importantly, introduce sampling error new category, measuring how likely numerical scheme is capture real during simulation, show even reference may lead errors because failure our schemes them. Ultimately, further evolution non-ideal needed, based gained insight over last two decades.

An Alternating Direction Implicit Method for Modeling of Fluid Flow

This research includes of the numerical modeling of fluids in two-dimensional cavity. The cavity flow is an important theoretical problem. In this research, modeling was carried out based on an alternating direction implicit via Vorticity-Stream function formulation. It evaluates different Reynolds numbers and grid sizes. Therefore, for the flow field analysis and prove of the ability of the sc...

A Review of Recent Studies on Simulations for Flow around High-Speed Trains

Fluid flow around bluff bodies occurs in numerous fields of science and engineering, such as flows pass vehicles, cables, towers and bridges. These flows have been studied experimentally and numerically for the last several decades. The investigation of flow around high-speed trains is an important application of bluff bodies. Fluid flow, aerodynamic forces and moments, separation and wake regi...

Multi-scale high-performance fluid flow: Simulations through porous media

In petroleum production and engineering, the subsurface formation that surrounds the well screen gets, in many cases, deteriorated with time in relation to its hydraulic conductivity. As a consequence, well production declines with time and this limits to a large extent its efficiency. Since well installation is a major production operation that usually requires a large capital, it is always im...

The Sonification of Numerical Fluid Flow Simulations

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software simulates fluid, air flow and heat transfer by solving the Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations numerically. Realistic 3-D engineering simulations typically yield the values of 7 or more variables (e.g. fluid component velocities and temperatures) at hundreds of thousands of points in space, all as a function of time. It has been noted that solutions of the ...
